Role Description: The Insurance Producer is a full-time, on-site role based in Rochester, MI. This role is responsible for prospecting and developing new business, meeting with individuals and businesses to assess their insurance needs and recommending appropriate coverage options. The Insurance Producer will prepare and present quotes, explain policy features and benefits, and guide clients through the application and onboarding process. Daily responsibilities include managing a sales pipeline, maintaining regular contact with existing clients, and responding promptly to coverage questions and service requests. The role also involves collaborating with internal team members and carriers, staying current on product offerings and industry regulations, and identifying opportunities to expand coverage, including personal lines, commercial lines, and employee benefits solutions. The Insurance Producer is expected to uphold high standards of professionalism, compliance, and customer care in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in insurance sales and consultative selling, with experience in prospecting, closing, and maintaining client relationships.
- Solid understanding of core insurance concepts and products (e.g., personal, commercial, and specialty lines), with the ability to explain coverage clearly and accurately.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, clear verbal and written communication, and the ability to build trust with diverse clients.
- Proven customer service skills, including timely follow-up, problem resolution, and a client-focused approach to service and retention.
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license in Michigan (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe); additional life/health licensing is a plus.
- Prior experience in an insurance agency, brokerage, or financial services environment preferred.
- Comfort using CRM systems, agency management software, and standard office tools to track activities, manage pipelines, and document client interactions.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
