What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computer Science Instructor position at Allen Community College?
9 Month Contract Full-time Position (renewable contract position)
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position involves teaching 15 credit hours per semester in both the computer
science and cybersecurity programs, with a focus on preparing students for high-
demand careers in the rapidly evolving field. Additional responsibilities include
recruiting prospective students, supporting the growth of the computer
science/cybersecurity program, and building strong connections with industry
partners to ensure curriculum relevance and student success. A commitment to
academic excellence, student engagement, and continuous program improvement is
essential. The onsite teaching assignment will include both on-ground and online
classes within the department. The position is also responsible for division
participation, committee and task force service, and individual professional
development.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in or with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or subfield;
and/or Valid/Industry recognized credential in the discipline and/or 2 or more years
industry experience in the career/technical field.
LOCATION: Iola, Kansas Campus office location. On-campus hours are required of the
position.
SALARY: Salary range $41,00-62,000; based on education and experience. An excellent
benefits package is available.
STARTING DATE: August 6, 2026
