Physical Education Teacher Needed
Location: Allen Brook School

Allen Brook School (ABS) is seeking a high-energy and dynamic Physical Education Teacher to join our PreK-2 team starting FY27. This is a 5-day-a-week position designed for an educator who loves helping young children discover the joy of movement and healthy living.
We are looking for a professional who can motivate every student to cultivate physical fitness and wellness, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment where students develop a lifelong appreciation for physical activity.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a standards-based curriculum centered on Physical and Health Literacy.
- Integrate physical education and health through a variety of engaging activities and units throughout the school day.
- Collaborate with PT, OT, and Special Educators to implement adapted PE, ensuring all students have access to movement.
- Foster a positive climate using strong classroom management and organizational skills to support early childhood learners.
- Assess student progress based on SHAPE America National Standards to guide instruction and growth.
- Maintain clear communication with staff, students, and families regarding student wellness and program goals.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- Current Vermont Licensure in K-12 Physical Education.
- A collaborative spirit, with the flexibility to engage in team teaching and work across faculty teams.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to interface effectively—both in-person and in writing—with the school community.
- A commitment to inclusivity, helping to develop an environment that represents and welcomes all students and families.
- Dependability and passion for helping young children (PreK-2) make healthy choices that last a lifetime.
