Early Childhood Special Educator (One-Year, 2026-2027) Needed

Champlain Valley School District (CVSD) is seeking an innovative, energetic, and collaborative Early Childhood Special Educator (One-Year, 2026-2027) to join our CVSD Early Education team starting FY27. We are looking for a warm, highly organized, and dynamic professional to lead one of our high-quality, inclusive school-based prekindergarten classrooms.

In this role, you will be a dynamic practitioner and advocate for students with a variety of abilities, working within our school teams to support the overall smooth functioning of our inclusive educational systems.

Primary Responsibilities

• Leading and facilitating one of our high-quality, inclusive school-based prekindergarten classrooms.
• Providing special education services and research-based interventions specifically designed for young children ages 3-5.
• Co-designing and implementing inclusive, embedded instruction and support across a variety of learning environments.
• Implementing Pyramid Model Practices and providing learning opportunities aligned with the VT Early Learning Standards.
• Fostering supportive relationships and establishing friendly, professional rapport with students, staff, and families.
• Ensuring compliance with childcare regulations, special education rules, and program certification.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

• Demonstrated expertise in implementing developmentally appropriate practices and research-based interventions in Early Childhood Special Education.
• Proven leadership and a flexible, creative approach to problem-solving within an inclusive setting.
• Specific knowledge of the Pyramid Model, VT Early Learning Standards, and state childcare regulations.
• Poise and patience when dealing with difficult situations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently as a self-starter and prioritize tasks under pressure.
• Required Certification: Priority will be given to applicants who possess both Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education endorsements.
