The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Assistant is to assist the Maintenance Director (MD) in maintaining and operating the physical aspects of the Property.
Areas of Responsibility
- Assist the MD to ensure that the Community is always covered in the event of an emergency.
- Assist the MD in the preventative and routine maintenance programs to ensure that mechanical equipment, building structures and grounds are properly maintained.
- Assist the MD in the safe operation of all mechanical equipment through routine physical inspections.
- Assist MD to ensure that all maintenance work and storage areas are maintained in a safe, organized, and clean manner.
- Assist MD in maintaining online work order system, efficiently use the system and help delegate work orders to staff.
- Follow OSHA and Company guidelines relating to lock down and tag out procedures that are approved for the Community and follow OSHA standards for safe working procedures.
Driver portion:
- Drive residents to outings, health care appointments, banking and other activities as determined by the Lifestyle Director/Concierge and the Executive Director.
- Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle. Assist in loading packages, boxes, sacks, etc.
- Coordinate Community transportation services ensuring the maintenance of the vehicles and adherence to the transportation budget and expenditures as directed.

- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Minimum of one (1) year maintenance-related experience including working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
- Must be an independent worker with effective communication skills able to multi-task and be organized.
- Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
- The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license (Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) if required) for the state where the vehicle is operated.
- Must have an acceptable Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) record; the record must be checked annually.
- Technical school diploma preferred.
- HVAC and other related maintenance certifications desirable.

Salary : $17 - $25
