Schedule Options
- Option 1: Three weeks on-site, followed by one week at home (rotational).
- Option 2: Continuous schedule of up to 52 weeks.
- You may choose to either fly or drive round trip between the work site and your permanent residence.
- Flying: Eligible to expense a round-trip flight, airport parking, or reasonable Uber/taxi fare to and from the airport.
- Driving: Eligible for mileage reimbursement at $0.72 per mile for round trips between the work site and your permanent residence.
- Travel time is not compensated.

We are seeking experienced Level II Fiber Splicers to prep, splice, and test high-count ribbon fiber (6912 ) on hyperscale ISP projects. You will be performing spider ribbon splicing with rollable ribbon at 16 strands, not the normal 12. Candidates must be quality-driven, safety-focused, and ready to travel 100% nationwide.
Splicing Responsibilities:
- Use Fujikura 90R (required) with 16-count V groove 200-micron holders.
- Splice 16-count ribbon to (2) 8-count ribbons.
- Work includes splicing 864 ribbons per OSE (6912 trunk to 288 pigtails).
- Maintain tray/cable organization with precision.
- Use EXFO MPO Singlemode Tier-1 Certification Kit.
- Perform BIDI OTDR testing (2 fibers per 288 cables).
- Power meter testing with pinned/unpinned leads.
- Threshold: ≤2.0 dB loss.
- Document and submit accurate results.
- Performs complex splicing projects for both new and existing customers with little to no direction.
- Independently troubleshoots customer networks and reads/processes test results to provide customer deliverables.
- Creates Smart Sheets and Excel trackers to accurately track project schedules and progress.
- Independently reads/interprets prints and create work assignments for other Splicers.
- Accurately collects all pertinent information from pre-job inspections and customer field meetings.
- Supports operational leadership with the management of on-site project elements such as time, materials, documentation, production updates, tool, and equipment.
- Professionally interacts with and communicates with external vendors, customers, subcontractors, and internal leadership to ensure accurate information is disseminated to all parties.
- Proactively identifies and escalates project and personnel issues to operational leadership where appropriate.
- Creates training plans and conducts training for other Splicers and serves as a leader in the field, driving quality, efficiency, production, and safety.
- Utilizes expert-level splicing skills to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements across Splicing group.
- Possesses advanced understanding of all safety risks while working in a safety sensitive position, adhering to all safety requirements and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with relevant work experience.
- 3-7 years of experience performing fiber optic cable splicing projects required.
- OSHA 30 and First-Aid and/or CPR certifications preferred.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret construction prints, drawings, and splice matrixes to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled.
- Ability to determine equipment needs, cable route, cable direction, safety best practices, and perform splicing functions within a live customer facility.
- Ability to read/process test results and problem solve basic issues identified during troubleshooting.
- Ability to install and/or research installation procedures for all splice enclosures.
- Proficient in mid-level OTDR and power meter testing.
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship.
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English fluently and clearly to ensure safe communication on the job site.
- Strong team player with the ability to adapt to diverse team members.
- Ability to perform in a fast paced/high volume environment.

- Successful candidates will be subject to complete and maintain a successful pre-employment drug and alcohol test, random testing, and MVR check.
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist, crawl and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time.
- Must possess manual dexterity in hands, fingers, and arms to effectively operate power tools, controls, and specialized equipment.
- May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while onsite.
- When working on site, will be required to wear common protective of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel toed boots.
