About the Role
A growing commercial general contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to join its team in Duluth, GA. This position will lead estimating and preconstruction efforts for a variety of commercial construction projects, including Retail, Healthcare and Industrial projects, working closely with operations, subcontractors, and clients to develop accurate and competitive project budgets.
Responsibilities
- Prepare conceptual, budget, and hard-bid estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
- Develop scopes of work and bid packages.
- Participate in value engineering and preconstruction planning.
- Collaborate with project teams during project turnover.
- Identify project risks, opportunities, and cost-saving solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 7 years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and building systems.
- Experience preparing detailed estimates and managing subcontractor pricing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred
- Experience with Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, OST, WinEst, or similar software.
- Experience with negotiated, design-build, and hard-bid projects.
