Project Manager – PE, EIT, Civil Projects
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Salary - $130,000 Bens
This client is South Carolina’s fastest growing Civil Engineering and Architecture firm that are looking for an experienced Project Manager with 5-10 years of experience in Civil Engineering, preferably with a design firm or in construction-related roles. You will ideally already have your EIT or PE license along with proven ability to mentor and guide civil designers, technicians & interns.
As a Civil Project Manager, you will lead project coordination meetings with clients, project teams, and government agencies to ensure smooth project execution. You'll manage the preparation of permitting submittal packages, review technical specifications, and produce reports for civil infrastructure designs, such as drainage and water calculations.
You’ll collaborate with the team to coordinate workloads, make independent engineering design decisions, and communicate solutions to the Project Manager. Your responsibilities include overseeing the complete design and permitting process for Pump Stations, supporting construction administration from pre-construction through closeout, and addressing field issues with clients, contractors, and agencies. Additionally, you will facilitate client meetings, engage in community involvement to support business development, and participate in ongoing professional learning through educational opportunities.
Requirements:
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) license - Essential
- Understanding of project proposals, including scope of work, permitting process, project budgets & schedules.
- Experience coordinating with surveyors, consultants, architects, geotechnical engineers, MEP engineers etc.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide civil designers, technicians & interns.
- Experience managing civil design projects from kick off to closeout.
- Effective client communication.
- Capable of performing QA/QC reviews
- Ability to manage and delegate tasks to civil designers, technicians & interns.
- Ability to prepare complete construction documents for multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience reviewing and providing feedback on final plats, roadway, drainage, and water/sewer as-builts.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
