Estimators & Preconstruction Manager – Commercial Construction

$135,000 – $185,000 Bonus
We are currently recruiting three key hires for an established and growing Miami-based General Contractor – 2 Estimators and a Preconstruction Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded construction business delivering projects across retail, office, mixed-use, healthcare and other complex commercial sectors throughout Florida and nationally.
The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects for recognizable national clients, combining the resources and project portfolio of a national contractor with a hands-on, accountable working environment.
With a healthy pipeline and continued growth, they are strengthening their preconstruction department and are interested in speaking with Estimators at different levels of experience, as well as an experienced Preconstruction Manager capable of taking a lead role within the team.
You will be involved from the earliest stages of a project, working alongside operations, ownership, architects, engineers and subcontractors to establish accurate budgets, develop competitive proposals and ensure projects are positioned for successful delivery.
Depending on seniority, responsibilities will include:
- Preparing conceptual, design development, GMP and final construction estimates
- Completing detailed quantity take-offs and cost analyses
- Developing project budgets from early design through construction
- Soliciting, reviewing and leveling subcontractor and supplier proposals
- Identifying scope gaps, project risks and potential cost exposures
- Driving value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Working closely with architects, engineers, clients and project teams throughout preconstruction
- Supporting project handover, procurement and buyout
- Maintaining strong subcontractor relationships and market knowledge
- Monitoring historical costs and maintaining accurate estimating data
- For the Preconstruction Manager, taking greater ownership of the overall preconstruction process, strategy and coordination of estimating efforts
For the Estimator positions, we are ideally looking for individuals with:
- 3–5 years of estimating experience within a General Contractor, Construction Manager or Developer
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and building systems
- Experience estimating commercial construction projects
- Strong subcontractor knowledge and bid-leveling capabilities
- Experience with software such as Procore, Sage, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff and/or Bluebeam
- Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills
For the Preconstruction Manager, we are looking for a more experienced construction professional who can take ownership of projects through the entire preconstruction lifecycle, build relationships with clients and design teams, and provide leadership throughout the estimating process.
