Allegiance Group is partnered with a well-established concrete subcontractor based in Charlotte, NC, who is looking to add an experienced Concrete Estimator to their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with a strong background in concrete construction who is looking to join a reputable subcontractor with a strong project pipeline across the Carolinas and surrounding markets.
As a Concrete Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial concrete projects, working closely with project management, operations, suppliers, and clients throughout the bidding process.
You will be involved in reviewing plans and specifications, performing detailed quantity takeoffs, obtaining subcontractor and material pricing, and developing competitive bids that support the company's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for concrete scopes of work.
- Prepare accurate and competitive project estimates and bids.
- Obtain and evaluate material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Identify project requirements, exclusions, risks, and potential cost impacts.
- Communicate with general contractors, suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Assist with bid submissions and ensure estimates are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain and develop relationships with GCs, suppliers, and industry partners.
- Track bid activity and contribute to ongoing estimating processes and best practices.
- Support project handoff from estimating to operations when required.
Requirements:
- 3 years of estimating experience within concrete construction preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial concrete construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
- Experience performing concrete quantity takeoffs and preparing detailed estimates.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working to multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Planswift, STACK, or similar is a plus.
- A strong understanding of the commercial construction market in the Carolinas is highly desirable.
