As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting project accounting teams with cost tracking and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
- Match purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs (ACH, checks, and wire transfers)
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Maintain up-to-date vendor records and documentation
- Assist with month-end closing and accruals
- Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams on job costing
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
- Support audits by providing required documentation and reports
Requirements:
- 2 years of accounts payable experience (construction industry preferred)
- Strong understanding of job costing and construction billing processes
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
