The Allegheny Valley School District is seeking a full-time School Social Worker for the 2026-2027 school year to deliver comprehensive social work services to PreK–12 students, families, and staff. This position serves as a vital advocate for student well-being and provides trauma-informed support to students, particularly those with the greatest needs.
The School Social Worker will provide direct social-emotional services to students and support families in accessing appropriate community resources. In collaboration with school personnel, the successful candidate will assist students in developing the skills necessary for academic, behavioral, and social success. This role also includes addressing underlying factors contributing to chronic absenteeism and supporting students and families experiencing truancy concerns.
Additional responsibilities include implementing and monitoring targeted interventions within classroom settings, navigating complex student and family situations, conducting home or service-based visits as appropriate, and strengthening connections between home, school, and community supports.
A Master’s Degree in Social Work is required. Pennsylvania licensure, Home and School Visitor certification, and a minimum of three years of experience in an educational setting are preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
Pay: From $46,236.00 per year
