We are Allegheny Surface Technology, an industry leader in stainless steel surface finishing. We specialize in electropolishing, passivation, and pressure vessel inspection, repair, and testing. Our team takes pride in delivering high-quality service to both shop and field customers.
In this role, you’ll support both shipping/receiving operations and quality inspection activities to help ensure products are processed accurately, safely, and to customer specifications. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys a hands-on manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
Shipping & Receiving Responsibilities
Verify incoming parts and quantities against vendor packing lists
Note and report missing or damaged cartons on packing slips or bills of lading and notify management of discrepancies
Operate forklift to load and unload trucks
Ensure all shipping documentation (packing lists, bills of lading, certifications, etc.) is complete and sent with shipments
Schedule freight pick-ups as needed
Receive and prepare shipments using ERP and UPS software
Stage incoming material at appropriate process locations
Maintain weekly supply inventory
Quality Technician Responsibilities
Inspect all materials and equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and customer expectations
Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections
Interpret various work instructions, technical procedures, and inspection criteria
Document inspection results, test data, and product disposition
Support internal audits and corrective/preventive actions
Perform quality evaluations including surface finish inspections and borescope inspections .
Provide technical support to production teams regarding product quality
Obtain VTII Certification (training provided)
Tools & Technology
Inspection tools including profilometers, borescopes and chemical test kits including calibration and maintenance of quality tools as needed
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system
Adobe PDF software
UPS shipping software and forklift operation equipment
What You’ll Need
High School Diploma or GED required
Two-year degree, trade school certification, or equivalent related work experience preferred
Previous experience in shipping/receiving, quality inspection, or manufacturing environments preferred
Strong math, measurement, and blueprint reading skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and digital documentation
Ability to safely operate a forklift (training provided if needed)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with multiple departments
Strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. with frequent standing, walking, reaching, and use of fine motor skills
Proper use of PPE as safety is a top priority
