About the Role

The Engagement Center Manager will lead a new downtown Pittsburgh center designed to support adults experiencing homelessness through direct access to services, advocacy, and a path toward housing and stability. This leader will set the tone for the center, build and supervise staff, strengthen partnerships, and help create a welcoming, low-barrier environment where clients can meet basic needs and connect to the support they need.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Engagement Center
• Build, supervise, and develop staff
• Coordinate services with partners in the building and across systems
• Maintain a strong focus on housing, service access, and client outcomes
• Help ensure the space is welcoming, safe, respectful, and well-run
• Manage budget-related activities, reporting, and performance tracking
• Recommend improvements to services, policies, and processes

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of leading a successful health or human services program
• Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Experience applying trauma-informed care and Motivational Interviewing
• Ability to build trust with individuals from diverse life experiences
• Strong professional judgment and commitment to client dignity and confidentiality

Preferred

• Experience serving people experiencing homelessness and responding to crises
• Management experience in human services
• Knowledge of homelessness, housing, behavioral health, and related systems
• Master’s degree in public administration, social work, public health, or a related field

Salary and Benefits

• $80,000–$85,000
• PTO, sick time, health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and EAP

• Act 33, 34, and FBI clearances required
• This position is formally employed by Community Family Advocates and functions as an integrated part of Allegheny County DHS’s team
