Assistant Director, Life Design

This role facilitates Life Design programs, coordinates recruitment and outreach efforts, advises student organizations connected to the Culture, Identity, and Leadership Coalition (CILC), and supervises the Jason Fellows (student employees) by providing guidance, mentorship, and leadership development. Working closely with the Director of Life Design, the Assistant Director translates strategy into meaningful student experiences that promote self-awareness, leadership development, persistence, and connection across the campus community. This position plays a key role in creating opportunities for students to engage in high-impact programs that support personal growth and community development.

As the Assistant Director of Life Design, you will:

• Implement and facilitate Life Design programming and curriculum for students, including workshops, series, and campus-wide initiatives that promote self-awareness, identity development, and goal setting.
• Coordinate student engagement and outreach efforts for Life Design initiatives, including recruitment, marketing, event logistics to ensure strong participation and impact.
• Advise and support student organizations within the Culture, Identity, and Leadership Coalition (CILC), providing guidance on leadership development, program planning, and, provide student leadership development.
• Collaborate with campus partners to co-create and implement programs that enhance belonging, wellbeing, and community engagement across the college.
• Assist in continuous improvement of Life Design programs by collecting student feedback and engagement data to inform future initiatives.
• Assist with administrative and operational responsibilities of the Life Design Office, including communication, student support, and management of Jason Fellows student employee schedules and responsibilities

Experience and Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience required
• Bachelor’s Degree required; all fields of study are welcome. Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Education is preferred.

Required Knowledge of:

• Understanding of college student needs and how to support their growth, engagement, and success. Familiarity with planning programs
• Advising student organizations
• Creating opportunities for students to connect and get involved

Required Skills in:

• Plan and run programs and events from start to finish.
• Strong communication skills and confidence speaking in front of groups.
• Advise and support student leaders and organizations.
• Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required for communication, program planning, and reporting.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) for collaboration and organization.
• Basic experience with social media platforms for student outreach and engagement.

Your Compensation

The expected starting salary for this position is $50,000.00 annually.
