School Nurse
Duties:
- Provide direct nursing care to students and staff in accordance with school policies and procedures
- Assess and evaluate the health needs of students and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Monitor and document student health conditions, including vital signs and symptoms
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote a healthy school environment
- Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure confidentiality of student information
Experience:
- Valid registered nurse (RN) license or licensed practical nurse (LPN)
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in pediatrics or school nursing
- Knowledge of common childhood illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions
- Familiarity with state regulations regarding school health services
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
