Responsibilities
- Opens all deposit account types including sub-share, certificates and IRA's. Performs teller transactions as needed. Completes new member onboarding. Processes loan requests for all loan types; completes loan closings and required lending documents. Acquires and renews NMLS registration. Processes new and closed account requests. Assists with incoming phone call overflow. Processes monthly IRA periodic withdrawal payments, payment protection claims and insurance payments.
- Performs branch balancing, cash sales to/from vault, balancing of cash dispenser and ATM, and weekly cash ordering.
- Processes outgoing wire transfers, death claims, address changes, allotments and subsequent action forms; assists in maintaining required imaging of documents to support disaster recovery.
- Responsible for reviewing check deposit holds, check cashing requests, fee reimbursement requests, member complaints, account issues, and override requests.
- Pulls and processes various reports daily, weekly and monthly, including new account reports and working cash reports.
- Maintains current knowledge of Federal Regulations and CU Policy relating to Operations, Lending, Shared Branching and Employee Relations.
- Actively participates in marketing campaigns including but not limited to, outbound call campaigns and actively educating members on current promotions. Assists in answering all incoming and outgoing phone calls. Responds to email, MRM and Workflow messages.
Performance Measurements:
1. Open all account types, certificates, loans and other credit union products or services accurately, ensuring all related forms and documents are completed and files are scanned for permanent retention in a timely manner.
2. Actively cross-sell products and services to members to achieve or exceed all established sales goals and assist in meeting department goals. Actively pursue account retention.
3. Provide informed, prompt, accurate service and support to all members and associates by waiting on members in the lobby, answering the telephone within 3 rings, and responding to messages or correspondence within established department standards and timeframes.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve member problems and assist with complex transactions and sensitive member relations problems in a courteous and tactful manner.
5. Ensure all security controls are followed, including open/closing procedures, vault, alarm, and door duties. Maintain dual control procedures in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.
6. Ensure that end of day balancing is accurate and completed in accordance with Credit Union Policy and Procedures.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills including proper phone etiquette with the ability to apply those skills communicating with employees and members effectively, clearly and in a courteous and professional manner in person and/or over the telephone is necessary. Ability to travel between branches as needed with or without notice.
