Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in payroll processing or payroll accounting.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems and software, such as ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) designation.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Knowledge of benefits administration and timekeeping systems.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with payroll audits.
Responsibilities:
- Process and verify payroll data including hours worked, salaries, bonuses, and deductions on a regular payroll schedule.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payroll transactions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to update employee information, benefits, and tax withholding status.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax information in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with year-end payroll processes including W-2 preparation and distribution.
