What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School K-8 Child Care Provider – Lower Campus position at All Saints Academy (Lower Campus)?
All Saints Academy is a Catholic school inspired by the Holy Spirit and dedicated to teaching and living as Jesus did. Our mission is to serve and partner with our families, parishes, and communities as we focus on the spiritual, intellectual, moral, and social development of our children.
We are seeking an after school child care provider to join our team as we provide a positive environment for our kindergarten through 8th grade students after their regular school day has concluded. This position requires availability Monday through Friday 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Additional hours are available on snow days and non-school days (when child care is open) that are scheduled during the academic calendar year. Flexible summer employment options are available.
Responsibilities
Assists in coordinating activities for students attending the after school programs
Prepares materials for activities each day before the start of programming
Engages with students from 3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. providing supervision of students and engagement in planned activities
Collaborates with the child care director and child care staff to ensure quality programming
Inventories the rooms and requests supplies
Maintains the cleanliness of the child care spaces
Practices positive, consistent discipline in the after school care setting and contacts parents when necessary
Keeps the child care director informed of areas of need and concern
Acts as a witness to the Gospel values
Demonstrates professional work habits by regular attendance, honoring schedules, organizing work, and conducting assigned tasks in an effective and efficient manner
Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese
Qualifications
Experience working with school age children
Experience in a child care setting preferred
High school diploma
Requirements
Virtus trained or willingness to complete prior to start date
Complete the childcare licensing requirements through the State of Michigan
