What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN – Labor & Delivery position at All’s Well?
- Location: Port Arthur, TX 77640
- Pay: $35/hr (open to slightly higher based on L&D experience)
- Bonus: $15,000 sign-on bonus, paid out over 1 year (3 payments)
- Benefits: Full benefits
- Shifts: 3x12s – Days (7a–7p) or Nights (7p–7a)
The RN plans, organizes, and delivers patient care for the assigned shift. This includes assessing patients, coordinating care with providers and interdisciplinary teams, advocating for patients, and maintaining current nursing standards and policies.
When acting as Charge Nurse, responsibilities include:
- Assigning patients based on acuity and staff competency
- Promoting a safe, patient-centered environment
- Adjusting assignments as conditions change
- Exercising strong clinical judgment and reprioritization
- Supporting and supervising agency, new, and temporary staff
- Understanding suicide prevention and restraint protocols
- Facilitating communication across all care teams
- Delegating tasks appropriately per Texas Administrative Code
- Escalating concerns using the Chain of Command
- Ensuring compliance with all hospital, regulatory, and safety standards (Core Measures, Infection Control, CMS, NIAHO/DNV, OSHA, State of Texas)
- Minimum 2 years L&D experience
- Current Texas RN license
- Required unit competencies and certifications (BLS, CPI, NIHS Scale, etc.)
