Serve as the central point of contact for all employee injury and workers’ compensation matters within a medical setting
Coordinate immediate response and documentation for workplace injuries; ensure first reports of injury (FROI) are submitted promptly and accurately.
Work closely with clinic managers, providers, and employee health to obtain medical documentation and facilitate appropriate care for injured employees.
Monitor the status of claims and ensure compliance with state workers’ compensation laws and OSHA regulations.
Act as liaison with TPAs, insurance carriers, legal representatives, and occupational health clinics to coordinate case management and follow-up care.
Maintain and organize accurate case files, reports, and OSHA logs.
Support the return-to-work program, identifying modified duty opportunities and working with medical providers and management on transitional assignments.
Ensure proper documentation and tracking of lost time, restrictions, and medical clearance forms.
Partner with HR and Safety to analyze trends, recommend preventative measures, and develop injury prevention strategies.
Assist with internal audits, compliance reporting, and annual OSHA filings.
Provide education to managers and staff on incident reporting procedures and workers' comp policies.
Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of all medical and employee data.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, human resources, or related field preferred.
2–4 years of experience managing workers' compensation claims, preferably in a healthcare or urgent care setting.
Familiarity with clinical operations, medical terminology, and employee health protocols.
Knowledge of federal and state workers’ compensation regulations and OSHA standards.
Experience working with third-party administrators (TPAs) and insurance carriers required.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinical and administrative teams.
Excellent organizational and time management skills; attention to detail is critical.
Ability to handle confidential medical information in compliance with HIPAA.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and HRIS or claim management systems.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred But Not Required.
