What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Manager position at All Pro Recruiting (APR)?
Located near Ohio City. This position can be an on-site or hybrid.
We currently have a career opportunity for a Tax Manager and primary responsibilities are focused on the following areas:
Tax Compliance
- Technical review of business, trust and individual income tax returns with the ability to take tasks from beginning to end in an efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assisting in identification and resolution of tax issues, providing recommendations for improving client results, applying creative tax ideas to enhance client development and growth.
Project/Task Management
- Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations.
- Accept responsibility for, and complete tasks assigned in a timely fashion.
- Manage multiple client projects at any given time.
Engagement Management
- Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business.
- Serve as the Engagement Manager on specific client accounts, taking responsibility for the engagement planning, execution, and final delivery to client.
- Manage tax compliance process, schedule staff, deliver work products on time and communicate engagement status to president.
- Develop a professional relationship with the client.
- Serve as the prime point of contact with the client.
Staff Management and Development
- Take responsibility for subordinates’ activities.
- Effectively delegate work to staff.
- Develop subordinates’ technical and industry skills and encourage growth.
- Personal development to build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and applying them to moderately complex situations.
Qualified Candidates Will Have:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA certification / EA
- 6-8 years (minimum) of experience in tax compliance (Individual and Business)
- Business development skills (optional)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with clients in a variety of industries
- Proficient in corporate, trust and partnership taxation
- Working knowledge of State income/franchise tax for multi-state filers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information.
- Broad exposure to federal income taxation
- Excellent managerial, organizational, writing, communication, and tax research skills

Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
