  • Maintain sterile environments through proper sterile processing techniques and ensure all surgical equipment is properly sterilized and prepared.
  • Support ongoing quality improvement initiatives by adhering to NCQA standards and participating in case reviews or audits related to trauma medicine or infection control.

Skills

  • Proven experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center environment with acute care expertise in cardiac catheterization and ICU settings.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to cardiovascular surgery.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for documentation accuracy.
  • Skilled in aseptic technique, IV insertion/infusion, suturing, ventilator management, and airway management.
  • Ability to perform detailed patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and laboratory specimen collection.
  • Excellent clinical judgment combined with effective communication skills for working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law as it pertains to occupational health cases involving surgical or trauma injuries.
  • Capable of managing complex cases involving acute pain management, post-operative discharge planning, or hospice & palliative medicine considerations.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to cardiology, infectious disease care, trauma medicine, and medical-surgical nursing practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure environments such as emergency rooms or urgent care settings while maintaining patient safety. This position is an excellent opportunity for dedicated travel nurses seeking a challenging yet rewarding role within a reputable healthcare facility. Candidates must possess current RN licensure valid in Tennessee, along with certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS if applicable.
