Nurse Manager of ER

A regional medical center in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking a Nurse Manager for its Emergency Department. This leadership role is responsible for the overall daily operations, staffing, and clinical quality of the ED unit.

The role. The Nurse Manager reports into hospital leadership and is accountable for nursing practice, unit operations, and clinical outcomes across the Emergency Department. Day-to-day responsibilities center on operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety, reducing variation in clinical practice, and managing admissions and discharge processes to support efficient patient throughput. The Manager facilitates interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments, ensuring staff with the appropriate clinical competencies are matched to patient care needs. The role also carries full accountability for team development — identifying training gaps, providing coaching and feedback, and attracting and retaining talent to build a high-performing unit.

What we're looking for.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• (RN) Registered Nurse license required
• 2 years of recent (within the last year) acute care ER leadership required; charge nurse experience in the ED will be considered
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
