Die Setter – Servo & Transfer Press Systems
We are seeking an experienced Die Setter / Die Setup Technician with a strong background in stamping press operations, die setup, servo press systems, and transfer press programming. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up, adjusting, troubleshooting, and operating metal stamping dies and automated press equipment.
Candidates must have experience with press programming, servo-driven equipment, or transfer press systems, preferably within a metal stamping or automotive manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform die setup, die changes, and die adjustments on industrial metal stamping presses and production equipment.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot servo presses, transfer presses, and automated stamping systems.
- Perform press programming, parameter adjustments, and equipment setup to support production requirements.
- Set up and adjust transfer systems, transfer fingers, feed mechanisms, and automation equipment.
- Perform servo system adjustments, including positioning, speed, timing, and motion settings.
- Troubleshoot stamping dies, press controls, servo-driven equipment, and transfer mechanisms.
- Complete die installation, removal, alignment, and changeovers to minimize production downtime.
- Adjust press stroke, shut height, feed settings, and die positioning as required.
- Identify and resolve die setup issues, press malfunctions, and production quality problems.
- Work with maintenance, tooling, and production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure proper die alignment, press safety, and stamping quality standards.
- Maintain accurate setup documentation and follow established manufacturing procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Die Setter, Die Setup Technician, Press Setup Technician, or Stamping Press Technician.
- Hands-on experience with metal stamping presses, progressive dies, or transfer dies.
- Experience with at least one of the following: press programming, servo press systems, or transfer press systems.
- Ability to perform die changes, press setups, tooling adjustments, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of servo-driven press equipment, motion control, or transfer automation.
- Familiarity with press controls, machine parameters, and production setup procedures.
- Understanding of stamping operations, die alignment, shut height adjustments, and press safety.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, tooling specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in automotive stamping, high-volume metal stamping, or industrial manufacturing preferred.
