Job Description

We are seeking 2 experienced Controls Engineers / Controls Technicians for night-shift opportunities in Shelbyville, Indiana. Ideal candidates will have strong hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), industrial automation, electrical troubleshooting, and manufacturing equipment maintenance.

This position focuses on diagnosing and resolving complex PLC control system failures, electrical faults, and industrial automation issues to restore production equipment, minimize unplanned downtime, and improve manufacturing reliability.

Candidates should have experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment, machine control systems, industrial sensors, motor drives, and electrical control circuits in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose industrial PLC systems, PLC faults, and automation control issues affecting manufacturing production.
• Identify and resolve electrical faults, control system malfunctions, and equipment failures in automated manufacturing equipment.
• Provide hands-on technical support for industrial maintenance teams, focusing on machine controls, sensors, motor drives, and automation systems.
• Perform PLC diagnostics and troubleshoot equipment communication, control logic, and machine operation issues.
• Troubleshoot electrical control panels, industrial wiring, input/output (I/O) signals, and machine control circuits.
• Diagnose issues involving Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motor control systems, and industrial electrical components.
• Collaborate with maintenance personnel to identify the root causes of equipment breakdowns and recurring machine downtime.
• Restore malfunctioning production equipment to normal operation efficiently while maintaining safety and equipment reliability.
• Support root cause analysis (RCA), equipment reliability improvements, and downtime reduction initiatives.
• Provide technical troubleshooting support during night-shift manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience as a Controls Engineer, Controls Technician, PLC Technician, Automation Technician, or Industrial Electrical Technician.
• Strong knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and industrial control systems.
• Proven ability to perform PLC troubleshooting, electrical fault diagnosis, and industrial automation troubleshooting.
• Experience working with automated production equipment and industrial manufacturing machinery.
• Familiarity with industrial sensors, motor drives, electrical control circuits, and machine automation components.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation.
• Understanding of industrial electrical systems, control panel troubleshooting, and machine diagnostics.
• Ability to independently diagnose equipment failures and support rapid production downtime recovery.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness and availability to work the night shift in Shelbyville, Indiana.
• Must have and bring a personal laptop for troubleshooting and technical support activities.
