Job Responsibilities
- Execute purchasing activities to support customer demand and inventory requirements
- Develop and maintain purchasing schedules for assigned product categories
- Coordinate branch-to-branch inventory transfers while optimizing freight costs
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate stock positions
- Analyze inventory trends, sales history, and purchasing activity
- Support forecasting and replenishment planning efforts
- Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and lead times
- Identify opportunities to convert frequently purchased non-stock items into stocked inventory
- Review supplier pricing changes and assist with cost analysis
- Maintain vendor and product master data, including new supplier setup and data cleanup
- Partner with sales and operations teams to understand market demand and customer needs
- Utilize ERP systems and reporting tools to support purchasing decisions
- 2-5 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or related experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow
- Experience in electrical distribution, industrial distribution, construction supply, or electronics-related industries
- ERP experience, preferably Profit21 or Epicor
- Exposure to inventory planning or forecasting processes
