Job Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily welding operations in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
- Assign work, monitor productivity, and ensure production schedules are met.
- Perform MIG, TIG, and other welding processes on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
- Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with company and customer specifications.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate welders and fabrication personnel.
- Troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Coordinate with engineering, quality, and production departments.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain production records and quality documentation.
- Promote continuous improvement.
- 5 years’ welding experience.
- 2 years’ leadership experience.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
- Blueprint reading.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand extended periods.
- Experience welding both stainless steel and carbon steel sheet metal from 7gauge -18 gauge.
- AWS certification.
- Lean manufacturing knowledge.
- Forklift/overhead crane experience.
