POSITION OVERVIEW
The Part Time Behavioral Health Therapist is responsible for providing outpatient therapy services.
SCHEDULE AND PAY
This is a Part- Time (20 hour) position. Clinic Hours are Monday – Thursday 8AM - 7PM, Friday 8AM – 5PM. Scheduling needs will be discussed during interview.
Salary range: $36,500 -$37,500, depending on certification and experience.
DUTIES
- Assesses and documents patient’s mental health status.
- Assess and diagnose mental health conditions using the current edition of the DSM and ICD.
- Acquires an initial psychiatric evaluation for patients who are seeking psychotherapy services for mental health
- Identifies barriers and poor social determinants of health that may influence treatment.
- Works to remove barriers and improve social determinants of health that lead to reduced impairment and works to improve optimize functioning and outcomes.
- Utilizes enhanced interviewing skills to obtain a detailed history of present illness during each session. Interview questions will require assessment, but not be limited to patient’s safety, suicidality and homicidally, abuse and neglect across the lifespan.
- Treat mental health conditions using evidence-based psychotherapy and best practice standards.
- Acquires and review patient records regarding diagnostic information relating to the patient’s metal health therapy, i.e. psychiatric evaluations and other casework materials.
- Develops with patient a comprehensive treatment plan, utilizing evidence-based interventions that work to reduce impairment and improve functioning
- Develop initial treatment plans and update plan quarterly using measurement-based care standards.
- Coordinates care with other providers and the patient’s support system.
- Maintains proper documentation.
- Participates and is prepared for departmental and organizational meetings and activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Active licensure or ability to obtain licensure in the state of Iowa as an LMHC, LISW or LMFT prior to employment.
- One year of full-time work-related experience in agency and/or medical clinic service delivery (counseling, case management, outreach, prevention/education, etc.)
- A minimum of two years of experience providing behavioral health therapy to individuals, families, and groups preferred.
- Master's in Psychology or Social Work preferred
