Weekend Kennel Technician (Part Time)

All Breed Grooming Boarding & Daycare
Evansville, IN Part Time
POSTED ON 9/17/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/15/2027

I*f you have a passion for animals and are looking for a fulfilling, stable, locally owned place to work, consider joining All Breed! We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and highly responsible individual for a long-term position. We invest heavily in training our team, so we are strictly looking for candidates who want a permanent, long-term weekend role— NOT a short-term job for just a few months. Shift Schedule & Hours (Split-Shift Structure)*This position requires a unique weekend split schedule centered around our dogs' feeding, daycare, and pickup routines:

  • Saturdays (Split Shift):
  • Day Shift (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM): Manage daytime daycare and boarding. This includes checking in morning grooming drop-offs. Public pickups end at 3:00 PM, followed by final cleanup until 4:00 PM.
  • Break (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM): Enjoy a 2-hour break off the clock.
  • Evening Shift (6:00 PM – Completion): Return for evening routines (usually 1 hour, approx. 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM) to handle dinner, evening potty breaks, and bedtime routines depending on the boarding count.
  • Sundays (Split Shift):
  • Morning Shift (6:00 AM – Completion): Handle independent morning care. We are closed to the public, so this shift is flexible and typically takes 1 to 2 hours depending on how many dogs are boarded.
  • Evening Shift (3:00 PM – Completion): Prepare for evening routines and handle public client pickups from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Once dinner, bedtime routines, and final facility lockdown are finished (typically around 6:00 PM), your shift is complete!
  • Schedule Flexibility & Time Off: We build schedules up to one month in advance. Time-off requests are happily accommodated and arranged as long as they are submitted before the upcoming monthly schedule is published.
  • (SOME shifts may have a extra kennel tec working with you)

Position Requirements

  • Prior Experience & Dog Knowledge: Must have previous experience working with animals in a professional environment (boarding, daycare, vet clinic, or grooming). You must be confident reading dog body language to safely manage pack dynamics and identify stress or aggression.
  • High Independence: You will primarily be working alone (aside from daytime groomers on Saturdays or occasional morning/evening kennel help). You must be an autonomous worker who can be trusted to execute your duties perfectly without micro-management or constant monitoring.
  • Long-Term Commitment: We are looking for an employee who wants a steady, long-term home. If you are only looking for work for a few months, please do not apply.
  • Flawless Attendance: Impeccable attendance on scheduled days is non-negotiable. The dogs depend directly on you for their care, meals, and safety—tardiness or unexcused absences are not tolerated.
  • Professional References: You must provide strong, verifiable professional references from past employers.

Responsibilities

  • Pet Monitoring: Supervise and monitor the safety of dogs and cats in our care using proactive behavioral monitoring.
  • Daily Care: Feed animals and accurately administer medication.
  • Customer Service: Welcome clients, accept grooming drop-offs on Saturdays, and accurately handle dog/cat check-outs during Sunday evening pickup hours.
  • Facility Maintenance: Clean up after pets and maintain a spotless, approachable, and sanitary environment.
  • Optional Growth Opportunities: If desired, extra weekday hours are available to help with light grounds maintenance (mowing lawns, pulling weeds, filling holes, raking gravel).

  • Weekly Pay
  • Monthly Attendance Bonus
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) available after an initial tenure period.
  • Free Daycare & Boarding Services for your own pets.
