All American Title is hiring an experienced Title Examiner to review property records across Minnesota and Wisconsin and prepare Commitments for Title Insurance. Incumbent must be detail-oriented, proactive, and a great communicator. If you know how to read a chain of title and catch what others miss, we want to talk!
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with legal professionals, real estate agents, and clients to facilitate efficient property transfers and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines. Your energetic approach and meticulous research skills will be vital in delivering reliable title reports that uphold the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.
What you'll do:
- Perform comprehensive title searches using public and title records to verify property ownership and history
- Review legal descriptions, easements, rights-of-way, and other encumbrances to assess their impact on property titles
- Utilize GIS and mapping software to analyze property boundaries and spatial data
- Conduct research on real estate transactions, including reviewing deeds, mortgages, liens, and other relevant documents
- Prepare detailed title reports and summaries that highlight potential issues or discrepancies
- Collaborate with underwriters to ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines during the title review process
- Communicate findings clearly with clients, legal teams, and internal teams to facilitate smooth real estate closings
- May perform Abstractor duties as needed, including pulling data from county records, printing documents and reports, and related support work
What you'll need:
- Proven experience in title examination or law office experience related to real estate law
- Excellent research skills with attention to detail in analyzing public records and title history
- Ability to interpret complex legal descriptions and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines
- Effective client communication skills combined with a customer service-oriented mindset
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of examining experience in the title industry
- Computer proficiency with common Microsoft software
- Ability to work independently and produce a high volume of daily exams
- SoftPro experience preferred, not required
