All Access Rigging Company, located in Watertown, CT is seeking qualified traffic control technicians to join our dynamic and growing Bridge Services and Specialty Contracting Company.
All Access Rigging is a leading provider of bridge access equipment, safety boats, aerial lifts, scaffolding and rigging services for departments of transportation, utility, gas, and oil pipeline companies, and multidisciplinary engineering and contracting companies performing bridge inspections, construction and maintenance.
Traffic control technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of transportation systems. This role keeps traffic flowing—and accident-free—in work zones, special events, and road projects. As a Traffic Control Technician, you'll be responsible for the safety of roadways, orchestrating cones, signs, barricades, flaggers, and tasked to guide vehicles and pedestrians with precision and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as: cones, signs, barricades, arrow boards, and stop/slow paddles.
- Direct traffic with authority—hand signals, flags, and signs—to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely around zones.
- Monitor and adjust traffic flow as needed, coordinating with construction crews, law enforcement, and supervisors.
- Safely install, repair, clean, and maintain traffic control devices to ensure optimal and efficient performance.
- Report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions.
- Maintain safety awareness by attending training sessions, mastering safety protocols, and brushing up on the latest techniques.
Starting Wage: $17.00-$20.00/hour, based on experience and certifications
Mandatory Job Requirements:
- High school diploma
- A valid driver’s license (class C minimum) and a clean driving record that is acceptable under our insurance.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexibility to work in various outdoor environments, in all weather conditions, and to adapt to shifting schedules.
- Physically fit: must be able to stand for extended shifts, sometimes in harsh weather, and shuffle equipment around.
- Must have reliable transportation to get to varied job sites.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
- Must be comfortable making split-second safety decisions, and staying focused in a noisy, dynamic environment.
Preferred skills:
- Strong understanding of traffic regulations and safety standards.
- Proven experience in traffic control or a similar role in construction or related fields.
- Training or certification (e.g., IMSA Level 1, MD SHA MOT, ATSSA Flagger Certification, OSHA)
