Job Purpose:
Working with clients, insurance companies, and Producers, under the guidance of senior staff, the Account Advisor's job is to perform duties and maintain quality service to our risk management accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Focus on client service and retention, by overseeing the entire lifecycle of commercial insurance accounts, from onboarding new clients to policy renewals and claims management
- Process policy changes, endorsements, and certificates of insurance in an accurate and timely manner
- Communicate and partner with insurance companies and/or Producers to ensure we are meeting client expectations
- Refer prospect(s) to the appropriate department or Producer
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, both internal and external
- Pro-actively assist Producers in retaining business
- Capable of servicing a complete book of business
- Serve as backup to the claims department taking claim reports, answering questions on existing claims, and referring any issues to the Claims Loss Control Coordinator or Producer
- Maintain and update electronic client accounts within EPIC and carrier portals
- Keep past-due activities to a minimum

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required, a college degree is preferred
- A minimum of one year of experience in the insurance industry is required
- Commercial, Personal, Life, and/or Health Lines License is required
- Proficiently navigate commonly used computer systems and software (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) with ability to learn new systems and software quickly required
- Knowledge of insurance markets and reference to markets is required
- Adequate knowledge of rating procedures, coverages and industry operations to effectively manage and maintain client accounts is preferred
- Ability to maintain appointment by all carriers required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Relay complex or abstract information and/or instruction in a descriptive and understandable fashion in both written and verbal forms
- Receive and interpret complex information which includes actively listening for total comprehension and asking questions that enhance the understanding of a certain topic
- Moderate-level math abilities is required which includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Basic-level reasoning abilities are necessary to understand and follow basic instruction from supervisory positions either by writing or verbally. This person also must meet deadlines and work well with teammates.
