Job Responsibilities
The Total Rewards Manager is a part of the Global HR COE and is responsible for overseeing the Benefits and Compensation teams.
Benefits
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure 1) adequate support is provided to improve services in line with the strategy and 2) required benefit filings are completed on time.
- Compare Alkegen benefits programs to the market and make recommendations to HR leadership on enhancements focusing on fairness whilst remaining in budget.
- Work with outside auditors to conduct annual benefit audit in conjunction with the finance department; ensure all audits receive a 100% pass rate.
- Monitor legislative reform and impact on benefit, pensions and wellness plans. Ensure the organization's benefits packages comply with all employment legislation.
- Develop and maintain participant reporting and disclosures required by ERISA, resolutions, plan documents, amendments, summary plan descriptions (SPD’s), benefit summary outlines, HRMS procedures and forms, and company-wide employee benefit communication and guides.
- Support the design and administration of salary structures, job architecture, incentive plans, and pay-for-performance systems.
- Oversee the compensation team to provide structure on market benchmarking and job evaluation to ensure competitive and internally equitable compensation decisions.
- Project manage annual compensation planning cycles (merit, bonus, equity) to ensure they occur on time with no interruption to business activities.
- Educate the enterprise on Alkegen's Compensation Philosophy and its importance to retaining talent.
- Review rewards analytics and reporting to inform decision-making, track trends, and optimize program performance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local and international laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, pay transparency, EEO, ERISA, GDPR).
- Leverage Workday for automation and program efficiency including training and the creation of dashboards for HR and managers to see compensation and benefits details.
- Lead and develop a high-performing Total Rewards team.
- Collaborate with CoE, HRD's and HRBPs, Finance, and Legal to ensure rewards integration and business alignment.
- Enhance the comprehensive total rewards strategy aligned with business goals and talent priorities.
- Provide training to HR and leaders on key compensation and benefits processes and legislation.
- Provide advice and guidance on competitive rewards with Union / Works Council experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- 7 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits, with 2-3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience supporting complex, global, or matrixed organizations. Manufacturing preferred.
- Strong understanding of compensation governance and global benefits; experience with Unions and Work Councils.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills with the ability to present to executive leadership.
