The role
We currently have an opening for a full-time Life Sciences Account Manager position. This is an office-based position in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Reporting to the Associate Director, Life Sciences, the Life Sciences Account Manager will play a critical role in the success of expanding ALK's innovative and propriety sterile vial and diluent products.
The Life Sciences Account Manager will also be responsible for locating new sales opportunities through cold-calling tactics, attending trade shows and building mailing lists, negotiating sales terms, and providing product demonstrations both in-person and virtually.
Your responsibility
Maintain and grow current base business, and establish long-term loyalty by:
- Leveraging existing account relationships to develop sales of products within the assigned territory
- Working closely with Business Development Managers to develop strategic plans and collaborative projects
- Assessing customer's needs and presenting products and services, i.e. Sterile Empty Glass Vials, Diluents, and ancillary items
- Contacting accounts monthly to develop relationships and increase our business
- Reviewing sales reports monthly to identify sales trends
Keep management updated regarding sales activity by completing administrative requests according to each respective deadline which includes:
- Keeping Outlook calendar updated with all appointments and planned meetings
- Entering notes and updates into CRM upon the completion or every sales interaction; updates should entail account status/comments and/or competitive information; weekly minimum of 100 updates required
- Maintaining sales pipeline
- Updating sales management monthly concerning the following: 1) Quarterly landing estimates, 2) Pipeline, 3) SEV Target lists, 4) Top 10 accounts up, 5) Top 10 accounts down, and 6) Development plan
- Participate in Sales training courses
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations
- Attend 3-5 company related events per year over weekends (industry tradeshows and sales meetings)
Your Profile
- 0-3 years sales related experience
- High School Diploma; Associate's/Bachelor's degree preferred (preferably in Business, Science, or Marketing)
- Must be results oriented, assertive and self-motivated, and possess strong organizational skills to be able to achieve goals consistently
- High level of motivation and initiative
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
- Proven inside sales experience and a track record of over-achieving
- Strong phone presence and experience dialing dozens of calls per day
- Ability to us and leverage CRM software, sales automation tools, and data analytics platforms effectively
- Proficient in all MS Office applications
- Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and digital trends that can enhance sales strategies
