This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality resident care, supporting nursing staff, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. The Unit Manager plays a key role in driving clinical outcomes, staff engagement, and overall unit performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily clinical operations of an assigned unit
- Supervise, coach, and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care
- Monitor and improve clinical outcomes, including quality measures and survey readiness
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Conduct rounds and address resident and family concerns
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, and performance management
- Support infection control, safety, and compliance initiatives
- Participate in audits, surveys, and quality improvement programs
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- 2 years of nursing experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for long-term care
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience as a Unit Manager or Nurse Supervisor preferred
- Experience with EMR systems in long-term care
- Demonstrated success in improving clinical outcomes and survey performance
