- Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism calendars.
- Work with Human Resource Manager and DON when scheduling modified work duty employees in accordance with work restrictions and facility policy.
- Complete monthly nursing schedule coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage of units.
- Complete and post work sheets/time schedules. Perform miscellaneous duties pertaining to staffing and assist nursing supervisory personnel as necessary.
- Answer employee calls regarding staffing/scheduling functions. Assist in obtaining nursing care staff information needed for daily posting requirements.
- Work with the nurse management team to coordinate work schedules, time off, and shift coverage.
- Ability to utilize the On-shift scheduling system.
- Communicate effectively with teams to assure a team-oriented environment /
- Manage the staffing schedule and maintain adequate staffing for each shift and monitor overtime utilization.
- Recruit staff members from job fairs, career days, nursing school, and other potential sources.
- Develop and implement local recruiting campaigns with the Administration Team
- Assists with Screening, interviewing, and orientation of qualified applicants.
- Assist with the tracking and communicating compliance of required education, certifications, and specialized training.
- Strong oral and written communication and teaching skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with resident, families, community members, volunteers, and other facility staff.
- CNA certification preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in a long-term care/skilled facility preferred.
- Prior scheduling experience preferred.
- Computer skills required.
- Knowledge of scheduling software is encouraged.
