We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate Director of Nursing to lead our Nursing department and ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Report to the Administrator and provide leadership and direction to the Nursing department
- Plan, develop, organize, and implement policies and procedures in accordance with all governing rules
- Oversee nursing education, including in-service training and Return Demonstrations for CNAs and Nurses
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation, including chart audits, wound prevention and treatment, lab reports, and PT/INR reports
- Monitor and improve QA program for the nursing department
- Coordinate nursing services portion of resident discharge plan
- Complete medical forms, reports, and charting
- Serve on committees and attend Care Plan meetings as needed
- Participate in weekend admin and supervisory on-call schedule
- Determine and maintain nursing staffing needs, recruit and select nursing personnel, and ensure proper nurse/CNA coverage on all shifts
- Oversee staff scheduling, complete performance evaluations, and make daily rounds
- Monitor absenteeism, tardiness, and overtime, and administer fair disciplinary actions
