If tracing faults from an HMI to a PLC rung to a VFD parameter sounds like your kind of puzzle, this role is for you. In Department 506, you’ll partner with our Facilities Manager to safeguard uptime, lead tough repairs, and elevate our machine capability.
Your Mission
- Bring CNCs and conventional equipment back online fast—installation, alignment, maintenance, and repair are your core.
- Diagnose across disciplines: mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic.
- Perform NEC-compliant electrical work on wiring, control panels, motors, and circuits.
- Draft preliminary electrical schematics that guide final engineering documentation.
- Lead cross-trade repairs when needed and collaborate closely with Operations.
- Order components, manage spares, and build accurate labor/material estimates.
- Pitch in on facility needs—new equipment installs, general repairs, cleaning, painting, and snow abatement.
- Model compliance with policies, procedures, quality standards, and work instructions.
- 5 years maintaining manufacturing equipment, with significant CNC experience.
- Fluent in interpreting prints and schematics across electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Pro at reading machine alarms and identifying whether it’s the program, the machine, or the operator.
- Experience with PLCs (ladder logic), VFDs, microprocessor-based controls, relays, breakers, and process control circuitry (preferred).
- Connecticut E2 license preferred; Associate degree/certification or relevant military background considered.
- Comfortable operating hoists, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
- Fluent English communication—written and verbal.
- Lift 35 lbs safely.
- Stand for extended stretches.
- Kneel, sit, or lie down to reach components in tight spaces.
