About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial processes for a long-term contract in Plano, TX.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records through transaction verification, reconciliation, and processing.
- Process monthly payroll and manage banking activities including discrepancy resolution.
- Handle sales tax processes, exemption certificates, filings, and reconciliations using tax management software.
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts, perform variance analysis, and support annual budgeting.
- Coordinate regulatory compliance activities including Secretary of State filings and insurance renewals.
Required skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll processing, and budgeting.
- Familiarity with sales tax procedures and accounting software.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Nice to have
- Experience with Avalara or similar tax platforms.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis techniques.
- Experience managing compliance filings and insurance coordination.
