What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator II position at ALIGN PRECISION?
M-Thurs 4p-2:30a (includes a 2nd shift differential)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Performs all duties of a Level I CNC Machine Operator without assistance.
• Operates a minimum of two types of CNC equipment & assists in training/mentoring of Level I operators as needed.
• Runs multiple machines at or above expected parts-per-hour targets.
• Reads & understands M codes & basic G codes.
• Changes and/or replaces broken or worn tools independently.
• Identifies functional issues or trends with fixtures & understands how to troubleshoot.
• Makes corrective actions to out-of-tolerance dimensions in a CMM or control plan without assistance.
• Supports inspection processes by interpreting technical drawings & validating measurements using CMM & manual tools.
• Collaborates with leads and/or engineers to improve setups, reduce scrap, & improve efficiency.
• Other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience and Education:
- Minimum of 3-4 years of machining experience, preferably in a high-precision or military environment.
- High school degree or equivalent
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in operating and programming CNC machines.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM).
- Understanding of GD&T
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment and materials up to 50lbs
- Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms.
- Capable of standing for long periods and working in various industrial settings (e.g., machine shops).
- Ability to withstand loud noise environment.
