Primary Purpose:
To provide school principals with intensive coaching support to advance the implementation of the Effective Schools Framework and school improvement efforts in order to create thriving learning environments, maximize student outcomes, and meet state and federal requirements. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure supported campuses meet and exceed district, state, and federal accountability requirements.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Master’s degree from a recognized, accredited university
- Valid Texas Supervisor, Mid-Management or Standard Principal certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of and experience in various coaching models
- Ability to facilitate various size groups using facilitative leadership skills
- Ability to interpret data and support principals as they evaluate school instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
- Knowledge of school budget, staffing, and personnel evaluation
- Knowledge of Effective Schools Framework concepts and principles
- Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with others to support campus principals
Experience:
- Five (5) years’ of successful experience as a school Principal
- Proven track record of implementing district policies and procedures to improve student outcomes
- Proven track record of significantly improving student outcomes in low-performing schools
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Coaching and Leadership
- Demonstrated ability to lead successful school reform efforts
- Demonstrated success in improving student achievement in low-performing schools
- Knowledge of Effective Schools Framework, state and federal accountability requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing
- Critical thinking and analytical skills for in-depth data analysis, problem solving, and school improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated success in establishing and reviewing campus goals, objectives, and major classroom instructional programs
- Demonstrated success in maximizing time, resources, materials, and technology to support accomplishment of goals
- Demonstrated success in conducting needs assessments in order to improve student outcomes
School Systems
- Support principals as they establish systems to develop, implement, and monitor focused improvement plans that address the causes of low performance
- Support principals as they establish systems to retain effective, well-supported teachers by strategically recruiting, selecting, assigning and inducting teachers so that all students have access to high-quality educators
- Support principals as they establish positive school culture, aligned vision, mission, goals and values, explicit behavioral expectations and management systems, proactive and responsive student support services, and involved families and community
- Support principals as they implement district instructional plans and assessments that support learning at appropriate levels of rigor
- Support principals as they provide teachers with job-embedded professional development and access to time and data needed to reflect, adjust, and deliver instruction that meets the needs of all students
Communication
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with principals, teachers, staff, parents, and community members
- Collaborate with Area Superintendents, Curriculum and Instruction team leaders, and other departments in order to support school principals
Other
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise, evaluate, and recommend the recruitment, retention, or dismissal of instructional supervisors and support staff.
Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Professional Supervisor Personnel.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals
Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head
Lifting: Frequent moderate lifting and carrying (up to 25 pounds); occasional heavy lifting and carrying (25-50 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; possible district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $114,140 Mid. $136,678 Max. $156,614 (Based on previous experience)
Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.
Salary is based on 235 days. If working less than 235 days, the salary will be less.
Federal Funded positions:
The hourly rates listed above are subject to change depending on the funding allocated for the specific job you may be hired for. The funding for this position is federally funded for the current school year. Continuation of the position is contingent upon the availability of future funds.
