About The Role

As a Solutions Architect at Alibaba Cloud, you will partner closely with our sales and business development teams to drive customer success and exceed business goals through the strategic adoption of Alibaba Cloud services—including our industry-leading AI, data analytics, and cloud infrastructure solutions. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to CTOs, CIOs, and engineering leaders at top-tier media companies, game studios, etc. Your will directly enable these innovators to harness the power of cloud computing, AI, and data to redefine how content is created, delivered, and experienced worldwide, guiding them through cloud transformation, application modernization, and intelligent innovation powered by Alibaba Cloud and the Tongyi ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to formulate and execute a technical sales strategy that accelerates cloud adoption in Alibaba Cloud.
• Lead hands-on architectural engagements to design, build, and migrate applications, platforms, and workloads onto Alibaba Cloud—ensuring performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Engage customers on the transformative value of Alibaba Cloud, including differentiated capabilities in AI (e.g., Tongyi Qwen, WAN), real-time analytics, elastic computing, and potential cloud solutions.
• Conduct workshops and technical sessions (in-person or virtual) to accelerate customer understanding and confidence in deploying on Alibaba Cloud.
• Capture, document, and share best practices, reference architectures, and lessons learned across the global Alibaba Cloud Solutions Architecture.
• Contribute to customer-facing content such as solution design, white papers, blog posts, and demo assets that showcase successful use cases and technical excellence.
• Build trusted relationships with senior technical decision-makers and champions within customer organizations, empowering them to become advocates for cloud and AI innovation.
• Act as the technical bridge between customers and internal Alibaba Cloud teams—including Sales, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Finance—to design compliant, secure, and operationally viable solutions that deliver tangible impact.
• Willingness to travel (approximately 20–30%) to meet customers, attend industry events, or support key deals.
  
  

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• 5 years of experience managing technical, customer-facing teams (e.g., Solutions Architects, consultants, or engineers) in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience in infrastructure architecture, database systems, networking, and cloud-based solution design.
• Professional experience in IT development, systems integration, or technical consulting within the gaming, media, or digital entertainment sectors—with exposure to high-scale, real-time environments.
• Extensive experience in external-facing technical roles—presenting to diverse audiences, from engineering teams to C-suite executives—with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 8 years designing scalable cloud infrastructures—including databases (relational/NoSQL), big data, CDNs, and low-latency networks—with deep knowledge of digital media workflows (post-production, encoding, DRM, live streaming, and content delivery).
• Familiarity with major public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI); experience with Alibaba Cloud services and the Tongyi ecosystem is a strong plus.
• Proven track record engaging technical stakeholders at game studios, publishers, streaming platforms, broadcasters, or digital media companies—and a solid understanding of their core systems.
  
  

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $132,000/year and $216,000/year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
