The Campaign Organizer is a pivotal, action-oriented role responsible for providing essential administrative, campaign, and program support to Alianza, directly ensuring the effective and successful advancement of the organization's core campaign priorities. This position is central to Alianza's mission, serving as the primary coordinator for all campaign-related activities across various initiatives.

A key function of this role is to engage directly with the community to cultivate and build strong local leadership, fostering a robust base of engaged residents. The Campaign Organizer is tasked with mobilizing this base through strategic outreach, consistent base-building efforts, and coordinating high-impact campaign actions. These actions are designed to empower residents to become effective advocates for comprehensive systemic change within the community.

Under the general supervision and direction of the relevant supervisor, the Campaign Organizer plays a critical role in expanding Alianza's overall community impact. This expansion is achieved by executing coordinated strategies focused on deep grassroots outreach, sustained base-building, and the implementation of synchronized campaign actions that amplify the voices of the community's most impacted residents.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Campaign Organizing & Community Building:

  • Strategic Outreach and Public Education: Significantly increase public and member awareness of campaign goals, objectives, and progress through comprehensive, culturally relevant outreach strategies. This includes developing and disseminating educational materials, leveraging relational organizing techniques to build trust and network connections, and coordinating high-impact public education events, workshops, and forums tailored to diverse community demographics.
  • Tactical Campaign Implementation and Support: Lead and actively support the execution of a diverse range of campaign tactics designed to build momentum and achieve measurable outcomes. These tactics encompass signature gathering for petitions, extensive community canvassing, organized phone banking efforts, intimate house meetings for deeper engagement, participation in broader coalition actions, and thorough preparation of community members and leaders to deliver compelling public testimony at key decision-making forums.
  • Leadership Development and Political Education: Cultivate a robust and engaged base by proactively identifying, recruiting, and developing community members across all age groups—including youth, adults, and emerging leaders. This involves implementing structured leadership development programs, conducting ongoing political education sessions to enhance civic knowledge, and prioritizing sustained, meaningful relationship-building to foster long-term commitment to Alianza’s mission.
  • Campaign Community Liaison: Act as the primary, reliable point of contact for the community regarding assigned campaigns. This critical role ensures that all residents and stakeholders are consistently connected to the campaign, fully informed about developments, and appropriately activated for actions and events, thereby maximizing participation and impact.
  • Facilitation and Issue Identification: Expertly facilitate a variety of engagement settings, including one-on-one deep conversations, productive small group discussions, and large-scale community meetings. The primary goal of these interactions is to accurately identify core community issues, effectively recruit new, committed leaders, and actively motivate broad-based participation in Alianza’s organizing efforts.
  • Membership Expansion and Advocacy Recruitment: Systematically expand Alianza’s membership base by designing and executing intentional outreach strategies focused on recruiting new community members, dedicated volunteers, and influential advocates who are aligned with the organization's values and campaign objectives.

Campaign Coordination & Program Support:

  • Integrated Activity Coordination: Manage and coordinate all community engagement activities, ensuring seamless collaboration with Campaign Managers and the broader Programs Department to align outreach efforts with strategic program goals and organizational priorities.
  • Event and Action Execution Oversight: Work in close partnership with Campaign Managers to meticulously plan, execute, and evaluate all events, actions, and campaign activities. This includes ensuring that all initiatives are executed precisely according to the strategic plan, are fully accessible to all community members, and strictly adhere to all internal organizational policies and external safety requirements.
  • Data Tracking, Evaluation, and Strategy: Establish and maintain rigorous systems for tracking key campaign metrics, including major milestones, community participation data, and overall organizing efficacy. The collection and analysis of this data are essential for supporting continuous program evaluation, informing data-driven strategy adjustments, and demonstrating measurable impact to stakeholders.
  • Team Support and Progress Management: Provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support to the campaign team. This involves coordinating all internal and external meetings, maintaining up-to-date and accurate campaign schedules, rigorously tracking progress against established timelines, and generating timely, detailed status updates for team leads and stakeholders.
  • Materials Preparation and Resource Management: Take responsibility for the timely preparation, production, and distribution of all necessary materials for community meetings, leadership trainings, public comment sessions, and core organizing events, ensuring all resources are high-quality and culturally appropriate.
