Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires schools to be in compliance when hiring paraprofessionals for classroom instruction. The following requirements are: •Graduation from High School or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency, and • Completion of two years of higher education (48 semester units) or • Associate’s degree (or higher) or • Pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting instruction. Official transcripts and copy of High School Diploma required within two (2) business days of offer. Candidates are required to attach a copy of their High School Diploma or G.E.D. to the employment application. TRANSCRIPT VERIFICATION:Transcripts and degrees earned outside of the United States must be accompanied by a full evaluation report from a regionally accredited foreign credential evaluation agency. Note: All three documents need to be attached to the application to be considered. 1) Copy of High School Diploma or G.E.D. 2) Copy of College Transcripts or College Degree 3) Copy of valid and current CPR and First Aid Certifications
