- Teach students the real-world skills they need for success in carpentry, construction, and building trades.
- Get hands-on! You'll lead both classroom instruction and on-site training at campus and off campus build sites.
- Shape the future of the trade by mentoring students, developing curriculum, and keeping strong industry connections.
- Be part of the Alfred State community, advising students, recruiting future tradespeople, and serving on college committees.
- Work face-to-face with students eager to learn from your expertise.
- Stay active in the field while teaching! Our program emphasizes real projects, not just lectures.
- Make a lasting impact by preparing students for successful careers in the trades.
- Have summers off (this is a 10-month position)
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in the building trades
- Strong knowledge of building construction theories and residential construction, including:
- Foundation and concrete work
- Framing, roofing, interior and exterior finishes
- Doors, trim, cabinetry, and light commercial construction
- Valid Class D driver's license
- Associate degree in a related field
- Teaching experience in a technical or trade environment
- OSHA 10 certification
