The Role
This is not a maintenance role — it’s a build role.
We’re looking for a Warehouse Manager who thrives in building from the ground up—someone who can step into a blank slate, establish structure, and create efficient, scalable operations from day one, and leads with both operational discipline and team-first leadership.
You will be responsible for launching and operating Alfred’s centralized distribution hub in Van Nuys, supporting 24 cafes (and growing) across Southern California. Initial training and onboarding will take place at our headquarters in West Hollywood as we transition into the new facility.
What You’ll Own
Build & Scale Operations
- Design and implement warehouse systems, workflows, and SOPs from the ground up
- Establish scalable processes for receiving, storage, picking, packing, and distribution
- Create operational infrastructure that supports multi-unit café growth
Inventory & Accuracy
- Inventory management across all SKUs, including cycle counts and reconciliation
- Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems and bin organization
- Ensure high accuracy across inbound and outbound product flow
Logistics & Distribution
- Oversee daily delivery operations servicing 24 cafés and growing
- Optimize routing, scheduling, and delivery efficiency
- Anticipate and proactively communicate delays or operational risks
Team Leadership
- Hire, train, and develop a high-performing warehouse and logistics team, including Coordinators, Drivers, and vendors
- Set clear expectations, coach performance, and build a strong team culture
Vendor & Cross-Functional Partnerships
- Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Partner with cafe operations to ensure seamless product flow
- Collaborate with leadership on forecasting, purchasing, and growth planning
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA and safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready facility
- Establish safety-first practices across all operations
Candidate Qualifications & Attributes
- 5 years of warehouse or distribution management experience, ideally in food & beverage or hospitality
- Proven experience launching or scaling warehouse/logistics operations
- Strong understanding of inventory systems, fulfillment workflows, and last-mile delivery
- Experience managing teams across multiple functions (warehouse drivers)
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs and be active on the warehouse floor
- Lead by example as an Alfred leader
Compensation / Benefits
- Competitive Salary: $84,500 - $90,000
