Role Description This full-time, on-site Insurance Agent role is based in Birmingham, AL. The Insurance Agent will meet with prospective and existing customers to assess coverage needs and recommend appropriate Alfa insurance products, including property, auto, life, and related services. Daily responsibilities include generating leads, conducting policy reviews, preparing and presenting quotes, processing applications, and managing renewals. The role also involves providing responsive customer service, handling inquiries and claims-related questions, and maintaining accurate records in Alfa’s systems. The Insurance Agent will collaborate with local office staff, participate in community and marketing activities, and consistently work toward sales and service goals while upholding Alfa’s standards of professionalism and integrity.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Insurance Sales and Insurance, with the ability to recommend suitable coverage options for diverse customer needs.
- Experience in Insurance Brokerage or related roles, including working with multiple products and carriers when applicable.
- Knowledge of basic Finance principles to explain premiums, deductibles, policy features, and long-term financial implications.
- Excellent Customer Service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and problem solving in a client-facing environment.
- Relevant state insurance licensing (or eligibility to obtain), and prior experience as an insurance agent or in a financial services role is preferred.
- Proficiency with office technology and CRM or agency management systems, and strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Birmingham, AL, build local relationships, and participate in community outreach and marketing activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is beneficial.
