Girls Soccer Assistant Coach

Essential Qualities:
- Strong soccer knowledge and experience:
- Demonstrated understanding of soccer tactics, techniques, and rules.
- Experience coaching or playing soccer at a competitive level.

staff.

- Punctuality, dependability, and a commitment to fulfilling coaching

- Ability to assist with practice set-up / execution, game preparation, and
administrative tasks.
Ability to work effectively with the Head Coach:- Willingness to support the Head Coach's philosophy and strategies.
- Ability to collaborate and contribute positively to the coaching team.
- Enthusiasm for the game and passion for educating:
- Genuine love for soccer and a desire to share that passion with young athletes.
- Commitment to teaching players both soccer skills and life lessons.
Preferred Qualities:
- Mathematical/Statistical acumen:
- Ability to analyze game data and statistics and communicate findings clearly.
- Comfortable using data to evaluate player and team performance.
- Goalkeeping experience:
- Specialized knowledge and experience coaching goalkeepers.
- Ability to develop and implement goalkeeper-specific training programs.
- Sports science background:
- Understanding of exercise physiology, biomechanics, and sports psychology.
- Knowledge of training principles, injury prevention, and player conditioning.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with practice set-up, execution, and tear down:
- Helping to prepare the practice field with necessary equipment (cones, goals,
etc.).
- Actively participating in drills and training exercises as directed by the Head
Coach.
- Ensuring all equipment is collected and stored properly after practice.
- Providing individual and group instruction:
- Coaching players on specifics of the game - both technical and tactical
- Providing accountability and offering guidance to players to improve their
performance.
- Working with smaller groups of players to address specific needs or positions.
- Managing gameday sidelines/benches:
- Supporting the Head Coach in making tactical decisions during games.
- Communicating with players on the bench and preparing them to enter the game.
- Maintaining order and focus on the sideline.
- Communicating with players (and parents, if necessary):
- Providing clear and constructive feedback to players.
- Relaying information from the Head Coach to players.
- Assisting with communication to parents on team-related matters (with Head
Coach's direction).
- Scouting opponents:
- Observing upcoming opponents to analyze their strengths, weaknesses, and
playing style.
- Providing reports and insights to the Head Coach to inform game strategy.
- Statistics: collection, cataloging, analysis, and explanation:
- Gathering data on player and team performance during games
- Organizing and storing statistical data in a clear and accessible format.
- Analyzing statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
