I’m representing an engineering consultancy in Houston that is looking to strengthen their Water/Wastewater team with an experienced Water/Wastewater Engineer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands on design delivery and supporting municipal clients on treatment plant and infrastructure upgrades.
Job Specifications:
- Lead and support design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, including process components, pumping systems, storage, and conveyance infrastructure
- Develop engineering calculations, process design layouts, P&IDs, site plans, and detailed design drawings
- Produce technical reports, basis of design documents, and construction specifications
- Manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery
- Coordinate with structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines throughout the design process
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers working on modeling, drafting, and plan production
- Attend project progress and review meetings with clients, utility owners, and regulatory agencies
Key Requirements:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
- 6 years of experience designing water or wastewater treatment facilities and/or related infrastructure
- Familiarity with local municipal and county design criteria (Houston/Harris County preferred)
- Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline
